Best boating 8:00–12:30 · Wind building after 2 PM.
Better for swimming after lunch · Choppy by late afternoon.
Fishable early · Gusts limit boating comfort.
Every lake day starts with the same two questions. Glassy answers both before you get out of bed.
See the best windows for boating, swimming, fishing, and wind sports — based on wind, chop, water temperature, storms, and changing conditions through the day.
Compare nearby lakes side by side so you can pick the best lake before you load the boat, pack the cooler, or round up the family.
Each activity runs through its own scoring engine. What's choppy for swimmers can be perfect for wind sports.
Weather apps tell you about the atmosphere. Glassy gives you the lake-day decision.

Glassy started with a simple question: how do you actually know if today will be a good lake day? Weather apps give you a forecast — but they don't tell you if chop on the lake will make tubing uncomfortable, or if tonight sets up well for a sunset cruise, or if the walleye bite will be better at sunrise or in the late afternoon.
So we built a daily lake briefing for families, boaters, anglers, swimmers, and wind sports enthusiasts to take advantage of the best windows on your favorite lakes and to do less guessing around when and where to go.
We're starting off with the Wisconsin lakes we grew up on, but we're expanding fast. So if you don't see your lake, let us know and we'll add it. Please share your feedback on how to make Glassy even better. See you on the lake!
